Beachbody 21-Day Fix

I resurrected this post from an old site of mine that is now closed ( as an example of the problems with Beachbody’s affiliate program.

Eat (and drink) only the 21-Day Fix approved foods

On the 21-Day Fix nutrition guide is a list of approved foods, follow the list religiously.

Picky as I am, I found something I liked on the list. You are bound to do the same as there are a variety of foods to pick from because the List is a broad one.

To keep your body in shape, you neither have to eat little nor deny yourself of food, you only have to eat right!

Although the nutrition guide has recipes you can try, it’s best to invent your own, drawing inspiration only from the approved Foods list.

The food list is grouped differently.

Nutrient-rich foods made up of roughly 40% carbohydrates, 30% protein, and 30% fat, a recipe for weight loss and energy needs.

I even included pizza to my 21-Day Fix!

Plan, plan, and plan

By planning what you will eat, you will hardly eat meals found outside the approved list. This program’s success depends on how well you plan your meals and stick to the plan. It could be daily, weekly or even monthly.

Also, you’ll have to make out time to workout. Try a 30 minutes workout session daily for 3 weeks. Do it religiously as only consistency will yield desired results

Use the heaviest weights you can while maintaining good form

Use dumbbells or resistance bad, whichever is difficult and makes you sweat more. Some exercises require light weights while others require the opposite which is why you should have these weights in different sizes and resist the urge to use only one size.

Start small, I started with 5 and 10lb. Dumbbells for my exercises then progressed to 8 and 12lb.

Push Yourself. After each exercise, you should feel like the pain would have killed you if you didn’t drop the weight. Change the weight or increase its size if it’s no longer challenging.

Drink Shakeology for one meal a day

Workouts won’t make up for a poor diet. Drink Shakeology after at least one meal daily to crush your junk food addiction, increase your energy level and for complete nutrients.

If you feel too lazy to prepare something healthy, Shakeology (which is like a combination of protein shake and multivitamin) is a healthy ready-made replacement. It is super nutritious.

Do the workouts in order, as recommended on the calendar

For maximum results which would see your muscles working faster and better, the workouts must be done according to how it is ordered on the program calendar.

I started out planning to skip the Yoga workout as I thought it was a complete waste of time. But then I got its importance and why it had to be in the program. The plan is not to overburden your body, there are times when we must allow the body to rest and heal. So don’t skip any workout or do any haphazardly.

Throw away the junk food

You will want junk food within 21 days, you must fight the urge while teaching your body how to eat healthily. Let the junk Go. Get it out of your house, secret drawer, desk drawer. Free yourself from the temptation.

If you mistakenly eat junk within these 21 days, don’t give up! Get back on track as one mistake is definitely not the end of the world.

Add the 10 Minute Abs Fix workout into the routine every other day

Ab workouts are proof that nothing good comes easy. Doing this for 10minutes will have you feeling like your abs are going to disintegrate. I’d like you to factor this into your daily workout schedule, as it is good for the body.

I believe that this particular workout skyrocketed my results far above my expectations. It doesn’t have to come after your routine workout but if you find a way to fit it in every now and then, a six-pack is within close range.

Get a friend to join you or join an accountability group

To reschedule and put some of your habits in check, you’ll need a hand from a friend. It is hard already but getting someone who encourages you by joining puts your chances of success at a very high rate.

Your workout buddy doesn’t always have to be at all your work out sessions but by making you feel you owe someone an explanation anytime you eat unhealthy food or miss your workouts, you increase your chances of succeeding.

Ditch the containers if needed

To help you understand proper portion control, the 21-Day Fix program comes with color-coded containers. This system, good as it is, is hard to sustain. I prefer that you ditch the containers after the first week (how long it should take you to learn proper portion sizes based on your intended caloric intake. so that you can learn proper portion sizes based on your goal caloric intake.

People might find me insane for even towing this line of thought, but I think what is important is eating the right food and not the container the food will be coming in. People get so carried away using the containers that I cannot but prefer that they are used as instruments of learning, after which you’d move on.

Commit to 3 weeks

Commit to these three weeks’ workouts and healthy diet plans and your body will be better for it.
